Participation in Athens Global Game Jam

This year we are ready to participate in Athens Global Game Jam.
We have formed a team of 2 game developers. Our graphics designer will not be able to participate. But we are willing to cooperate with other game makers that we will meet at the event!
We will be developing in Game Maker Studio, and most likely exporting for Android platforms.
We are eager to start and very anxious of what we will actually accomplish in such a short amount of time.
But we are willing to have a lot of fun! And experiment with new ideas, as well as, exchange ideas with fellow game developers.
I hope we will meet many interesting people.
I hope to see you all there!

SQLite Windows Game Maker Studio Extension

Hi all.

As a follow up to the previous post, I have created an Extension for GMS SQLite in Windows Platforms.
The Extension provides easy access to an SQLite Database for your games that are exported to Windows Platforms. With this extension you can port your SQLite database file with the distribution of your game. The extension provides all the most common functionality of an SQLite DataBase. (e.g. insert, update, delete, query/cursor, create/alter/drop tables/indexes). Just add your SQLite DataBase file inside Game Maker’s Project. Database files are imported into a project using the “Create Included Files” functionality. All database files must reside inside the the group named “databases”. If there is anything more than you need to do with an SQLite DataBase in Windows, do not hesitate to contact me so that I enrich this extension further. Special care has been taken to provide fine grained Exception Handling. All SQLite errors are caught and forwarded to Game Maker Studio, so that the game always knows what has happened with the execution of every method. Error Handling messages return either the expected result, or in case of an exception a String with the following Template :
{MethodName}: ERROR:{ReturnCode}: {ErrorMessageForCode].
Feel free to contact me if you have any questions or need something more from this library.

You can find the extension here :

I hope you will find it as useful as i did!

Android SQLite GMS Extension

Hi all.

While we were creating a new drawing android game for children, we needed a database implementation to store all the Tales/Scenes/Objects etc. And also we wanted an SQL solution. So we picked up SQLite that is very easy to use.
But not for Game Maker Studio!
So we had to create an extention. And the result is an Extension for GMS that provides easy access to Android’s embedded database library for SQLite (android.database.sqlite). With this extension one can port his SQLite database file with the distribution of his game.
The extension provides all the most common functionality of an SQLite DataBase. (e.g. insert, update, delete, query/cursor, create/alter/drop tables/indexes).
I am planning on enriching the extension further regarding database upgrades in the future.
Special care has been taken to provide fine grained Exception Handling. All Android Java Exceptions are caught and forwarded to Game Maker Studio, so that the game always knows what has happened with the execution of every method. Error Handling messages return either the expected result, or in case of an exception a String with the following Template : {ClassName}:{MethodName}:Exception:{ExceptionMessage].
Feel free to contact me if you have any questions or need something more from this extension.
